Batman is Yaw-Yan

By chefroe at 8 November, 2007, 5:41 pm

“Bruce Wayne swore an oath to rid the city of the evil that had taken his parents’ lives. He spent his youth traveling the world, training himself to intellectual and physical perfection and learning a variety of crime-fighting skills, including criminology, forensics, martial arts, gymnastics, and disguise. At age 14, Bruce Wayne began his global sojourn, attending courses at Cambridge, the Sorbonne, and other European universities. Beyond academia, Bruce acquired more “practical” skills. While abroad, Bruce learned all 127 major styles of combat, from Aikido to Yaw-Yan.”

I spoke with our Grandmaster Napoleon A. Fernandez, originator of Yaw-Yan and he said with a smile he didn’t remember training him, ha ha.

to all the great men of yaw-yan,
i have always admired Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman for many reasons and the main reason (although not very common) is that he is Human! it sorts of gives us something to look up to as being human ourselves… that with enough will power we can achieve things that are almost unachievable!…just like Grand Master Nap…Long Live po GM!!!…i’m not a yaw-yan member, but i’m more than glad to be one if God permits.
By the way…just a little contribution…Batman always brings along a kryptonite with him…just in case!…More Power!

Well if Bruce Wayne bothered to learn it, Yaw-Yan must be quite the martial art!

There must be a filipino writer working in DC Comics. It’s really cool for a filipino martial art to have a recognition like this.
