Louie “Bahaghari” Mateo Joins Yaw-Yan ArDigma Makati

Pride of Kastriyan Baguio Yaw-Yan and Real Pinoy Fighter Louie Mateo joins Yaw-Yan ArDigma as Coach and Trainer. (update 02/28/2008) Read interview below


Brother Louie brings with him a lifetime of martial arts experience to Yaw-Yan ArDigma Makati. He will be conducting training to our students and bring a whole new level of Modern Reality training for men and women.

Here is our short interview with this wonderful person.

Yaw-yan.com: Tell us about yourself and coming from Baguio.

Bahaghari: I am Louisito “Louie D Dragon” Mateo from the beautiful rich bearing golds, fresh vegetables, water and strawberries high mountains of Benguet in the Cordillera Administrative Region. My city is the Summer Capital of the Philippines. Baguio City is the fresh pine smelling city cold, quite relaxing weather and beautiful scene spots to enjoy and to stay in.

Bahaghari: I am the eldest son of Mr. Roberto and Mrs. Lourdes Mateo. I live and breath my Martial Arts Profession…

Bahaghari: I first learned the traditional art of Karate before as brown belter, then met my Yaw-Yan professor Ike Amata in 1980, started my one-on-one training from him in Baguio City. Before, then I was a bell boy in the hotel Banawe Inn owned by the de Guias within the city but is no longer existing. At that time, Sir Ike Amata is a routine fight instructor in the movie PALOS-II Gated by Bernard Bonnin as the lead man also a Yaw-Yan member here the time when I met JC Bonnin or Juan Carlos Bonnin his son, me as his partner trainer that time. Sir Ike Amata is one of the best teacher and fighter I met in my Yaw-Yan Martial Arts carrier…

Bahaghari: I was in the field of Martial Arts since I was at 2nd year high school at age 13. I met the real combat, full contact martial arts in my Yaw-Yan skill it is since then my specialized martial arts discipline since we started Full-contact sports in Baguio City since 1981…

Bahaghari: I reign as the toughest and favoritely known as “the most feared kick boxer of Baguio” conquering my biggest opponent Sgt. Mark Williams (5′9″ / 160 pounds) against me (130 pounds) 1985 via decision, KO’d Totoy “Maso” of Bicol at BSU KO’d Bad Boy Cacido in University of Baguio and Randy Guindan both same club of Manila rematch again Cacido but did not able to beat me at 4 rounds in UB, and many more… If there is a chance, I will still fight if there is a very good opportunity.

Yaw-yan.com: Whats your fight record? Will you continue to fight?

Bahaghari: I have had many Fights to many to remember the amount..I will continue to fight as i mentioned on RPF live begins at 40!!!! Look at Randy Couture he’s better now then ever.

Yaw-yan.com: Whats your feeling about MMA?

Bahaghari: MMA is also a challenging sport because you must exert all types of Martial Arts Style to win. It is the future of Fighting in Sporting events, I enjoyed my time on RPF (Real Pinoy Fighter).

Yaw-yan.com: Whats your plans for the future?

Bahaghari: My future is to raise my training camp and produce a lot of champions.And Spread the word of Yaw-Yan

Yaw-yan.com: How do you feel about the new style Yaw-Yan ArDigma?

Bahaghari: Yaw-Yan ArDigma is Master Naps latest creation, it is a open hand Arnis Style,Which is very fast and exciting to watch..it has been very successful in the matches that the ArDigma boys have competed in.
